A Boardwalk sunset

Last week I got to attend the opening of the Le Vino Wine and Tapas Bar at the Boardwalk complex in Port Elizabeth.  The restaurant has an upstairs area with a balcony overlooking the Boardwalk lake and it was here we were toasting the end of another beautiful day in the Bay while the sun was going down.  The sky was stunning and this is exactly why I always like to have my camera with me.

So it is Christmas.....

To quote John Lennon "So this is Christmas, And what have you done, Another year over..."  It really feels like Christmas has creeped up on me and shouted "WHA!!!"  Last year I was in the Christmas spirit from late November already, but this year the working year seemed to have been so busy towards the end that it was halfway through December before I really started to hum Christmas songs. "Tra la la la laaaa, la la la la...."  Merry Christmas to you all.  I hope you have a very blessed day.

Boardwalk lake

We spent the morning at the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment Complex a weekend or so ago for a trampoline display by the GymStars Trampoline Club Chaos Boy goes to. It was a gorgeous morning which gave me the ideal opportunity to take a couple of pics across the Boardwalk lake.

This is looking towards the 2nd Avenue entrance. The building with the green roof is home to Algoa FM while in the front there is a couple of food kiosks.

The building with the red roof is the casino while on the right is an excellent seafood restaurant called 34degrees South.

The Boardwalk day and night

The Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment complex on the Port Elizabeth beachfront is a very popular spot for both locals as well as visitors to the city. The nice part about it is that you don't have to visit the casino to visit the Boardwalk. In actual fact the complex is a very family friendly environment. Most of the shops are open in the evenings until 20:00 while the restaurants are open till late.

We went for dinner at the Chinese restaurant at the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment Complex on the Port Elizabeth beachfront the other night. It was a gorgeous evening and the lights from the Oriental Village at the Boardwalk look specially appealing. I never go anywhere without my camera, so piep piep, click.

Boardwalk Casino & Entertainment Complex

The Boardwalk is situated just accross the road from Hobie Beach and has over the years become one of Port Elizabeth's prime beachfront attractions for both local as well as international visitors. The complex was built around the man-made Boardwalk lake.

The main feature of the complex is the casino, although you don't have to go to the casino to go to the Boardwalk. There are also numorous restaurants, cinemas, shops, a craft centre, amphitheatre as well as kiddies entertainment on offer to keep the whole family busy.

The one part of the complex was built in the Japanese style and houses two Eastern restaurants. Other restaurants in the complex include a Greek restaurant, a steakhouse, pizza joint, a couple of coffee shops and some franchise restaurants. Something for everybody.
