OK so totally off topic here. Wal and I had a big discussion about Charlize Theron and her accent. She only ever speaks w/ an american accent and I find this weird. I thought maybe it was because she was being interviewed in America. The other day she I caught an interview by/for a British program and still w/ the American accent. She claimed to be proud to be SA and that she is very involved in SA issues. Soo my question to my SA bloggy friends is this... Does she speak w/ her natural accent when she is in SA? Her first language is Afrikaans (according to Wiki) so I would think she would/should and find it really odd and irritating that she puts on an American accent! Sorry for the highjack!!
That is a magnificent photo! And Lindy, she speaks american when she's here too.
Cor what a lovely shot ....really lovely..how close were you. I am very envious..:0)
the cat of the ancient Egyptians !!! AWESOME!!!!! you know, they just look like they came from another world=0)
I am very proudly South African, even after living in the USA for more than two thirds of my life--but in order to fit in at my new American school (think age 12) way back, I worked hard at losing my SA accent. When I am with SA family, or in SA, my SA accent is more pronounced, but still mostly American. Thanks, Firefly, for your great pics, and for taking over for SAM on the PE Daily!
Great photo of a beautiful creature!
Oh I do love the Cheetah! And they're very interesting animals too.
Beautiful shot! I hand-raised cheetah cubs for two summers - they are wonderful, gentle creatures. Not always the brightest... but very loving!
